Ok, i'm sure some of you must have some experience in this. What do you do to listen to music if your teacher won't let you have earphones in class. How would you hide what you're doing? Please Help!

Why even bother going to class if all you are going to do is stick your empty head into a set of headphones?

Like the above posts said, you really should not listen to music during class, as it is disresepectful, that said, you make your decisions. What my bf used to do is get a "hoodie", large sweatshirt with no zipper, you cut a small hole in the hoodie underneath the pocket, large enough for your headphone cord to fit through. Put your music player in that pocket and run the cord underneath your hoodie to your ears. Put the hood up and the teacher would not be able to see the cord, or the buds in your ear. Hope this helps, enjoy.

Wearing headphones while the class is going on is a big no no for me... if you were the teacher, talking in front of the class and one of your students is busy listening to his/her ipod, what would you feel? i'm sure you'd feel very bad about it.. it only shows that he/she isn't interested to listen to you.. so think of it.. put yourself in his/her situation then you'll understand why wearing headphones in class isn't right and will never be right..

Well, wearing headphones is disrespectful. I mean, if you were the one giving the lecture up front and everyone was listening to music I'm sure it would hurt your feelings. If this was a case of what clothes you wore, for example if your teacher prohibited you from wearing earrings or a certain kind of shirt, then it would be alright to speak up and defend yourself, but not earphones.

You should not wear headphones in class especially while the teacher is lecturing, or explaining an assignment to you. I often go in and sub for many of the teachers, and I think it shows a total lack of disrespect to the teacher. That does not mean that I don't allow the students to listen to music. If I am done explaining the given assignment, and the student wants to listen to music without disrupting the other students, then I will normally allow them to listen to music. If it gets out of hand, I will have them put the headphones away. If they refuse...they get to go to ISS, I have enough to deal with as a sub rather than having to deal with a disrespectful student.
