Sunday night my family and I went out to eat at a local restaurant called The Spaghetti Warehouse. My husband used to rave about them, and even took me there once while we were still dating. But for whatever reason we hadn't been back since then until Sunday.
The kids all ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I tasted a meatball and I didn't really like it. It tasted like there were too many breadcrumbs in the meatball. Mine are definitly better than that!
Hubby ordered a dish that came with chicken parm and lasagna. I tried his chicken parm and it was really good.
I ordered a dish that came with maniotti and lasagna. The manicotti wasn't bad, but the lasagna was awful!!
They called it a 15 layer lasagna, but the only layers it had was noodles, meat, and sauce. The sauce was a bit too strong and gave me horrible heart burn (I don't get heart burn easily!). The meat was spicy italian sausage which was a bit to over powering. And there was absolutely no cheese what so ever!!
My husband's signature dish is lasagna. Anyone who's ever had it says it's the best lasagna they've ever had. He puts a few secret ingredients in, and is very specific about the way he makes it. It's delicious. This lasagna I had at spaghetti warehouse was so disappointing compaired to hubby's lasagna!! I can't believe I wasted the money!
Have you ever eaten at a restaurant and felt you could cook food better than that of what they served you?

I know where you are coming from katsmeow1213. I spent many years in New Orleans, LA USA and had that problem over and over. What is worse is that people I was dining with said the same thing with reference to my cooking compared to what the Executive Chef had prepared for us.
Personally I have a high standard when it comes to eating out: The food must be good.
Did you write a polite letter to the corporate headquarters of The Spaghetti Warehouse? Perhaps toss in a few suggestions that they should feel free to use?

No I didn't write a letter, and don't intend to either. I only intend to not return to that restaurant again. Especially considering we spent $75 and for that price we could have had Olive Garden which is so much better.

Wow! $75 for a miserable icky meal? I am surprised you are not hopping up and down angry katsmeow1213. I would be livid. And have asked to speak to the manager and voiced my complaints until they took off my bill the items that were icky. Of course to not return to the place either.
I am so sorry this happened to you. *hugs*

There was nothing wrong with the food, I just didn't like it. I can't get my money back for that.

Hey kats! I feel the same way about Italian food! I make a
really good lasagna myself and don't order it when I go out
to eat because I like the way I make it the best! I will very
rarely go out to eat Italian food for that reason. I can make
quite a few Italian dishes and I make them pretty well so I
always think that mine are better so why bother! I much rather
go out for steak or seafood or Chinese! Why bother going out
for something that might make me disappointed! If I can make
something myself I don't bother ordering it just like you
feel about your husbands lasagna and your meatballs!

We eat at Olive Garden a lot, which is a true Italian Restaurant. Spaghetti Warehouse was under the impression it wasn't Italian unless it was smothered in tomato sauce! Now Olive Garden, we love, and we can't easily duplicate their foods. I expected Spaghetti Warehouse to be similar to Olive Garden, having amazing food you just can't duplicate. Boy was I wrong!!
