Watchmen?

Has anyone gone to see Watchmen?
I'm not huge on comic-based/superhero movies [except for batman], but I thik this one looks interesting.
I've heard from some people that it was awesome, and from others it was awful.
The visual effects look really really cool in the trailers.
What do you think?

I have heard of this and have also seen such a large number of adverts for it in the form of posters and trailers. I have to admit that it does look good.
I am not into comic book movies either that much and after watching Daredevil a few years ago, I was really put off as I thought it was such an awful and disappointing movie.
I might check Watchmen out though if friends feel like watching it!

Watchmen is awsome! It is probably the first movie that follows the book almost exactly. They include a lot of Roachesh's inner dialogue, several flashbacks, and overall follows the general flow of the book. The only major issue was that they changed the ending. A minor issue was that they didn't go into as much detail analyzing Roahcesh's psychie, but that bit can be forgiven. Other small things they left out, but at about 2hrs 40 mins, very good story. Note, it IS rated R, so I do NOT recommend taking your kids to see it, especially when Roachesh takes a cleaver, and repeatedly drives it it the head of a child killer, that feeds the little girl to his dogs.

Well I like graphic novels and I like superhero movies so when it comes out on DVD I'll definately be checkin it out! Both my kids want to see it too..The trailers look really good IMO

I understood the movie perfectly, and I also understand that this movie is not any good. There is absolutely nothing here, the story is just bad; along with the characters and the dialogue. My POV has nothing to do with the length or the superhero element, I don't really like action/superhero movies, I prefer drama. If the story and characters would have been good, I would have liked it, but they weren't. this movie is boring it doesn't have a lot of action in it.

now that i have seen your discussion, I'll look for it.....i liked some of the superhero movies.

Looks interesting to me. I'm not a very huge fan of comic-based movies either, but this one seems quite impressive and different. I might check it out. I heard it was a pretty decent movie.
