i would be very upset w/my child if he was caught stealing. he would just have to take his punishment like a man. then he would have to face his mom's punishment. there's no excuse for that.

Some parent would probably not go to see the principal because of shame. But the bottom line here is that why would a child do such a thing?is it the parents fault?aren't we giving them enough money to spend?was it peer pressure?whooa...it's so difficult.tsk.sigh

you play you pay. i'm sure the child knew it was wrong. i to thought about whether the parents were giving her what she needs. it's a bad situation but u have to face the consequences when u do something wrong. i hope it teaches them a lesson where they want do it again.

A child should face the consequences and for sure will be very hard for him/her specially if the news will be known at school.Regardless you did it once..people will have the notion that you are a thief and it will be hard for them to believe you next time and there are some series of lost money or things in school...they will look at you even if you don't do it.

This situation acctually happened to a friend of mine about a month ago. Her daughter was caught stealing money from a boy's jacket, and she was suspended and now everyone in her school knows what happened. It has been hard on the girl. I think maybe you should remeber that your child is certainly going to suffer consequeses from this action, and you don't have to be really hard on them, because his or her peers will do enough damage on their end.

well there are some schools that will not allow both parties to know what happened and spread the news in school or else they'll be subjected for school dismissal.

i can promise you 1 thing, it would only happen once. i'd make a sigh for him to wear around his neck saying i'm a thief and make him stand on a busy street corner where all his friends could see him. i'm sorry but when it comes to liar's and thieve's i have no patience or sympathy.

whoo...that's too harsh..but I respect your decision. If it's how you want your son to learn then do so..probably what a parent should do is talk to his son/daughter why he/she did it...we need to dig deeper for the reasons why.
