Sorry, can't help you here. When my chocolate cravings hit, I give in. It's as simple as that. If I don't, I tend to want it more and more until I could almost OD on chocolate! When that little voice tells me to eat some chocolate, I eat some... just a normal-sized candy bar, then that little voice is quiet for awhile. The thing about dieting is not to deprive yourself of anything, just watch the amount that you eat. The more I try to stay away from anything, the more I want it so I learned to give in at the first hint of a craving. I will make up for it by eating that many less calories from the rest of the day's food. I just couldn't possibly imagine taking a vitamin instead of eating chocolate. Isn't there a law against that or something? If not, there should be!

I don't eat chocolate, so I cannot relate. I read from a magazine article that the reason why people have chocolate cravings especially those who are addicted to chocolates is because chocolates are rich in caffeine, a kind of stimulant that make your body desire for more supply of such food. You can avoid your cravings by not eating caffeinated foods, try to load your stomach with healthy foods like fresh vegetables and fruits and drink plenty of water and juices to flush out caffeine and control your mind from chocolate cravings. Good luck!

I am not sure what vitamin or supplement might be out there that is supposed to reduce chocolate cravings. However, I do have a few things to say. First, congratulations at loosing so much weight and keeping it off. Second, your body may be craving antioxidants. I would recommend trying a little green tea, preferrably without sweeteners. If you need it to be sweeter then add a little honey. Third, chocolate isn't the devil as long as you are careful to eat it in moderation. In fact, chocolate is a lot better for you then soda and probably better for you then sweet jello (depending on what you mean by that). Choose a high quality piece of chocolate that comes in a small size and carefully savor it. You will enjoy it, your body will probably get what it needs, and if you go slowly then your body will know it is getting what it wants and you won't have to binge. If ice cream is what you want, go get a small chocolate cone (kiddie size) or a small serving from the store rather then a 1/2 gallon. That will help keep you from binging.

A bite wouldn't do you harm. You don't have to deprive yourself of something for the cravings will just increase and one day you can't help but to eat a lot of it. What you can do is have a bite from time to time and you have to control yourself. You can have the whole bar but you share it with all the family members this will ensure that you don't eat the whole thing. moderation will be of great help. Hope this helps you.

I really love eating chocolates. The good thing is that in our country it's pretty expensive. So, I can only eat few and don't get much of the fat feeding ingredients it contains.

hmm sometimes when I really crave for something, I go drink tea and do other stuff to forget it and most of the time, I try to have a full meal so when my stomach is fully occupied, I won't think about snacks. Hope it helps you :-)

Wow, good for you 80+ pounds and kept it off for a year! That's awesome. I wish I could help you with the mineral deficientcy... I wish I knew myself. I'm guessing it is somehow related to iron, but that is only a guess. I have cravings myself. What I do is allow myself a small bit of high quality dark chocolate and make sure I enjoy the heck out of it. It works for me. I have a friend who is an art therapist.... she draws her cravings. She has one sketchbook with all her craving drawings and it is fascinating. Some look like monsters and some are speeding trains.... one was a bouncing ball. It's funny, she wont talk to anyone about these drawings, but she will let anyone see them who wants to. Lol.

Try to buy some sugar free chocolates, try to eat it as slowly as you can as this may help your brain realize that it's already contented. Also try dark chocolates, aside from their taste , black chocolate is good for your health. Well, at least in moderate amount that's it. :)

A small amount of chocolate won't hurt you, and in fact chocolate is the healthiest choice of confectionary there is - better than jelly sweets etc which are just 'empty calories.' Buy the best quality chocolate you can afford, one with a high percent cocoa solids. I tend to make a cup of real cocoa or high quality hot chocolate drink to satisfy my cravings. Still comforting, but lower in calories!.
