Education fit to individuals?

My opinion:
One purpose of education is socialization. Socialization means people who already have been socialized help new people to have apposite attitudes and basic knowledge about their society. How can this be possible if education is about just giving what new people, not yet socialized or under socializing, want?

I'm not sure where you're coming from but I can say that individually tailored instruction would require more instructors and less students or more work for instructors who would be teaching these individualized lesson plans. I think that the person that made the statement was probably never a teacher but I think that not knowing in what context the statement was made will make discussing it more difficult.
