Do you have sympathy for people's addiction?

There are lots of things in general life makes you addicted whatever food, entertainment, good or bad habits etc. When you see people addicting to something, what do you feel? Do you feel sorry for them? Or do you think they chose to addict into it, so tough, they should suffer?

I have sympathy for it, I don't understand it, I'm not addicted to anything (thank God) except maybe chocolate and air. What I really don't understand is people who have problems that are obvious to everybody but them and don't get help. I'm going through this right now with a family member.

I'm helping a family member to quit smoking too, it is tough... for both of us.

I do symphatise with the smoking addicts :) I smoke myself and find it very hard to quit. Thou i fail to feel sorry for ppl who addict to stuff because they think it s cool and they find themselves more interesting by doing something that only "cool" ppl do. In other words i do symphatise with the ones who got their addiction "by accident". Edit: spelling :)
