How many of you are living on one income right now?

I know there are alot of people who are living on one income, whether it's by choice or not. Right now, my husband and I are living on one income because his company closed last year, and he's not able to find another job in his field quite so easy for various reasons. The main reason is his MVR. That should clear up this summer, then he'll be able to get a job. Until then, most companies won't hire him. We're making ends meet until then...I just have to do some creative financing at times. How is everyone else making it? I'd be curious to learn what other people are doing to make ends meet, or bringing in extra money. I know this topic has probably been talked to death, but I'm not sure that I've read anything on this.

I am not living on my income. I have lost my job and dependent on my father's business which is also not doing good besides I have this online income too! I do'nt think without a job we can survive. I will have to find a job otherwise we will be on road soon! My younger brother is studying only and elder sister is trying for a job. It seems that finding job is harder than finding God these days :-(

I'm sure you'll find something. You just have to keep trying. Everyone has to find something eventually.

Earlier in my life, I was worried about not finding a girl for me and people were saying, "You will soon find someone in your life." and I did find one so, I believe that your good wishes would give me good luck in finding me one job soon. Thanks.

He has been doing some online stuff. It just seems like it takes time to get the earnings.

My fiance and I are basically on one income because we only make money online for the time being. We've tried to look for jobs but with no avail, and our experience isn't that much anyway. We're happy though, and we make what we need to make. It's nothing much, but we're lucky to have his parents help us with not only planning our wedding but paying for it as well. After we're married we plan to look for work. I hope that you can find more and more ways to be frugal, I know that mylot has a few interests in frugality, and maybe you can find advice and tips from there. I can suggest making your own laundry soap!

Actually, I already make our laundry soap. I even make our own fabric softener. I'm looking around for other ways to save money. I'm going to do it. Don't worry. lol

in my family too it is only my husband who earns. we have all our expenditure and the living only from his income. my husband dont like me going to a job and hence i am not able to proceed with my job. hope your husband finds the job sooner. now at the time of recession it has become very difficult to other people who have also just lost their jobs and all they find more difficult and hope this time goes out faster and relief people.

Sometimes you gotta do what you need to do so that you can get by. Even if this means your husband doesn't like it. You could always get a job until he gets back to work, and then once you're back on your feet, if your husband would still prefer that you stay at home, you could always quit your job. It's not like going to work is a permanent thing that has to happen. I really wish I could stay at home with my kids, buts we can't afford it right now.
