Octomom!

It all started when a woman named Nadya Suleman, who worked in a fertility clinic, had herself implanted with embryos and went on to have eight babies. On the surface that seems like a decent human interest story at best, but once you start to fill in the facts, it blossoms into many other issues, starting with ethics. It turns out that the California woman already has six children. Just taking that fact into consideration brings about the question...WHY??? Why would somebody who already has the task of caring for six children, feel the need to take on more. Add to that the fact that she is currently unemployed and is single, and the question of why comes to mind again. The red flag should have popped up at the fertility clinic where Suleman worked. That brings up the ethics question. She used her position at the clinic to "work the system" or "abuse the system," depending on your point of view. The fact that thousands of other childless couples have to go through rigorous interviews and screening processes prior to the attempts to implant embryos and you have a single woman with limited resources who is exploiting her situation to get sympathy and financial support once again brings up back to the question of "why?? Then there is the claim that she "wants nothing." I'll be fair with regards to her interview with Today's Ann Curry. She may very well have done that interview just to "set the record straight." However, I guarantee that she has received compensation from Entertainment Tonight for "sharing" her daily blog and her interview she gave ET. That brings up another question, why is this woman being treated like a celebrity because of her obsessive need to have kids. She doesn't even fit the criteria of Anna Nicole Smith. At least Anna Nicole was a model and had some legitimate claim to fame. "Octomom" created this herself and is getting rewarded for her psychological impairment. Suleman's own parents have questioned her connection with reality. When asked about this, she simply brushes it off as "o, me and my mom had a disagreement, she has her beliefs and I have mine." She is trying to justify her obsession and work the media into feeling sorry for her. Her new "job" appears to be "media darling." The latest word is that her father has decided to buy her a house. It would be nice if that was the end of it, but I have a feeling the "octomom" is going to be a media fixation for some time to come...like it or not! That's my opinion (for what it's worth) now, what do you think?

i think you need to get your facts straight, 1. there are no records that she worked in the fertility clinic, 2. she's been on disability and using student loans to support herself, plus food stamps and disability from two of her kids. 3. her dad didn't buy the house, she bought it with donations that are coming in plus the money she made from selling her kids pics and doing interviews. 4. she's a psycho bi@ch and we are all going to pay for her kids. she's such a train wreck its disgusting. she's moving into my neighborhood and i cannot stand it, she's so annoying and out of touch with reality. i really hope she's unable to keep all the kids, no good will come out of them being with her.
