How do you think that the band Pink Floyd got the name " Pink Floyd"? What does it mean? Give your opinion, and we'll talk

I read in Nick Masons book "Inside Out" that they came up with the name based after two Piedmont blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. That is after the tea set incident.

Exactly, the name is from Pink Anderson and Floyd Council, and it was propoussed by Syd, because he admired both musicians

originally they were called The Tea Set. When The Tea Set found themselves on the same bill as another band with the same name, Syd Barrett came up with the alternative name The Pink Floyd Sound. In a 1967 interview with Tonarskvall 3 Radio in Sweden, when Roger Waters was asked about why they chose that particular name for the band Waters replied that 'It just sounds like a nice name. It's really just a registration mark. It's better than calling ourselves CCE338, or something like that'. [b]NOT A REFERRAL LINK
