Losing our billionaires!

There used to be over 1,000 billionaires, now there are less than 800. This is supposed to be an awful thing? I guess I'm just being bitter, but it seems to me the country is in this awful mess from rich people doing what they pleased and ignoring the rest of us. I find a vindictive pleasure in knowing some of them are going to have to stop buying yachts, diamonds, and spending like money is water. It's about time they have to live more like us. What do you think? Is it awful, or do you take a secret pleasure in it too? I realize they have all the money and them going under is making it worse for us. But with them having all the money, it doesn't seem to have helped us much either!

That's a good idea! I think it should be a requirement for any person worth more than 100,000 to have to live like a homeless person for a year. What an eye-opener that would be!

I know what you mean ,you are supposed to feel sorry for those people who live like gods at the top of the hill.Looking down on us.We have people like that round where we live they flaunt about in their expensive coats driving their sports models. We have lived here for years and years and these new people come to live here with all their stuff and think they can impress us with all their expensive stuff as if it makes them special. We all lived here really happily before they arrived and seem peeved they cannot make an impression on us country bumpkins .I always think these people especially these days will come down to earth a bit.I would find it very difficult to have so much and look out of my window and surrounded by such poverty.

I know! They act like they're the only ones who matter! I hate it. If I ever became rich, no one would ever know it. I sure wouldn't change one thing about how I live. But if I gave some to charity, I'd make sure no one knew where it came from. Or I'd be living in fear of being murdered!

I agree with you to an extent. Why is it that there are so many different levels in life. We would be a whole heap better off and more appreciative of our "lot" if we all started at least, on equal ground. If we all had the same basic "pot" available to us, a similarly grand home to everybody else, and had to make it from there, it would be a whole heap better. Ok, some would go under and some would succeed but at least we'd all have a fighting chance. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Maybe not start off with a grand home. I think it would be better for people to start off with an apartment. That way they wouldn't get a taste of grandeur, they'd have to work to get it.

I think it is about time they have to start watching what they spend. Like you said it is not fair! If they really cared about the rest of us they would give up their billion dollar homes and live in a less expensive house and share what they have with others. But that won't probably ever happen! Everyone seems to live for themselves anymore.

I think it's outrageous, the amount of money rich people spend on things even the middle class can't even dream about. That's annoying!

Hi snowcat! It is nice to know that the poor are not the only ones being effected by the economy. Maybe it's time some of those billions are spread around some. Maybe it will give someone else a chance to catch a few hundred here and there.

We could wish, but I suspect their losses just went down the drain. Maybe Maddox got them too? lol

Hi snowcat: Where did these billionaires go? Are they now millionaires? In a country where the majority of the population is poor and can only thrive with the crumbs the rich throw our way, its so heart breaking.

Some of them, maybe. Donald Trump has lost half his fortune. All I can think is, at least he still has a home unlike so many others. Others have lost billions. What about the people who've lost everything, they don't have more billions to fall back on, they have nothing. No, I just can't find it in my heart to feel bad for them.

True. I'm not homeless. Mostly cause I've spent my life saving to weather the storms. But if it goes on too long, who knows?
