do you shop at the local fruit market?

we have several fruit markets in our area, I love just walking through them and picking out my fruit and going to the deli counters and seeing what is on sale.. I enjoy this more in the summer when the windows are open and you feel like you are in an open space vs. the supermarkets that also carry the same things.. it just feels different... I havent been to mine in a couple months due to money being tight and the fact that it has been extremely cold... I plan to go next month and fill up on fruits and veggies again... do you have a local fruit market that you go to on a regular basis or certain times a year?

I do most of my shopping at the supermarket but I would love to live close enough to just walk to one of those old fashioned types of fruit shops, but unfortunately the ones we had around my area have all closed up, I guess they just couldn't compete with the big supermarkets..sad really

Here in Minnesota the city of Minneapolis has a HUGE Farmers Market in the warm months. My wifes boss buys a lot there for his restaraunt too. But we don't shop there as I grow so much in my yard each year. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

we have several here...but I tend to go to mine more during the summer, not sure why...LOL it is sad too... thanks for responding.

Nope. Mainly because there aren't any Farmers Markets during the cold months here in Minnesota. But in the spring and summer I grow a lot of things in my yard. Many vegetables and fruits as well. I am so busy with my gardens in the warm months. We seldom buy from the Markets as I grow way more than I need each year. In fact I am still eating home made pickels from last summer. I have 3 qts left is all though. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

we grow our own veggies too, but in a smaller portion, LOL, our backyard is small so we always need more...LOL that is great that you get that many veggies, my hubby keeps trying to talk me into buy a house with alot of land and he says we can grow all our own food... someday!! LOL thanks for responding.
