Well I can not add anything more than everyone else has already mentioned, but I will say that even though DSL is much faster than dial-up (56K modem), cable internet is WAY faster than DSL! As soon as I hit "enter" (if typing a URL) I'm immediately taken the the page I want to visit; there is no waiting for something to load, waiting for the computer to "think" about taking me there, etc. lol

DSL is a type of internet connection broadly categorized as broadband internet service. Compared to dial up, dsl doesn't tie up your phone line when you connect, plus it's faster and of course a little more expensive. There are also two types of dsl, one is freestanding and the other one is the regular type of dsl. Naturally, DSL connections are regular type, that is, the phone line is active (with voice service)while freestanding dsl is provided even if you don't have an active phone line (data service only). DSL are also particular to distance. Your area should be within range indicated (not sure about the distance)from the central office. If your location turns out to be farther than the range you will deemed technically not feasible. And of course beware, in most cases dsl has a contract so read the fine prints before you sign up. I hope this helps.
