Oh this is frustrating to say the least.
This is a recent photo of my daughter with Savanna my lil' princess. She loves the computer and my slot machines on it. Anyhow seems my daughter took Savanna away from us. Well, she went on a short vacation. She flew out this morning to Cal;ifornia to visit a family friend and also maybe my sister if she gets the time. She will be gone a week. This is the first weekend in a few years I won't see my daughter. I already miss my lil' princess Savanna as well. I did call her at the airport an hour before she lkeft to wish her a safe trip etc. Do you hate when your kids or grandkids don't come around for a whole week? HAHAHA!

I miss my kids, they live in Arizona and I live in Ohio because I just had to come home after my divorce and they were 18 and 19 then. I see them once a year around Christmas when I fly them out here. You're so blessed to have your child and grandchildren so close! I hope she has a great time in California!

My son is terrible about visiting us.
He comes around when he needs or wants something for the most part. I can't even get him to drop by to help me with small things on his way home from work. He basically is a mile off the highway from me at that time. He said he'd help me move dads old chair downstairs after work the other day. He never showed up nor called and hasn't even returned my call wondering why he didn't show or call. Ugghh!

Thanks, Pleiades! They were born there so it's home to them but it's such a desolate, alien place to me that I was literally sick with wanting to come home. I was stuck there for 28 years and I'm so glad to leave that place to the people who truly love it.

ACK! Don't scare me like that! I was about ready to call the police or something. *lol*
Me, I'd LOVE it if someone were to take my children off my hands for a whole week, but then I'd miss them too much. My babies I couldn't stand the idea of them being away from me for a night...or even two let alone a whole week.
Don't worry Grandpa Bob, I'm sure your princess misses you too.

Keep checking my discussions.
I do titles and first few sentences like this one.
It draws a lot of attention to them.

It is lovely that you live near your daughter and your dear little grand daughter. A week is not long, most of my trips are over two weeks. You might get a postcard from California. That reminds me I sent my family and friends postcards from South Africa in January and the still haven't arrived. Right now it is the middle of March so that is strange. My mum and sister usually stay close to home and I am the one person in my family that adores traveling. My longest trip was for just over one year. I left at age 20 and came home aged 22. I hope this week will go fast for you my friend and then you will see your family. Savanna looks adorable and she has such a pretty name.

A wek is long when they visit every weekend.
It just won't feel right not being woke up by her opening the door early Satruday.
But the extra rest will be nice.
Traveled all over the globe in that years time?

Cheer up GB, maybe little Savannah will send you an email. It will all be over before you know it and she will back at home. It is nice that your daughter want to share little Savannah with the rest of the family, you can't hogg all the love.
I know how you feel, I it hate when my grands are gone away like that too. Mine are growing up so fast, and spending more time with friends. I have no choice but to let them go.

I am so used to having my 32 year old son in the house, he is a homebody, that when he goes out for a bit and I know he is coming back I still feel funny. I don't like to be alone anymore.

Yeah... I'm the same as you, although I don't have any daughters. I have two sons and they both have their own kids. I miss the kids like crazy if they're off on a trip or the grandkids go on a school camping expedition or something. Never mind... it's only a week, and could be worse. Time will fly, my friend.
Brightest Blessings.

Yes I'm every bit as close to my daughter and her two kids as you are to yours. What have we got to live for with no kids??? Not much in my books.

Awww. That is so sweet.
My kids are all still at home. So I haven't had to go through that yet!
They will be back home soon enough.
Enjoy the peace and quiet while you can!

How horrible I know you missed her and I hope they had a great time.
I sure do miss my little man. I have only spent the first week of his life with him. Mom and baby will be down April 13-17 and then her and my son and baby will down the next weekend. The kids want to go to a concert in San Francisco so Granny and Granddad get to keep the little one. yayayayaya

My in laws are going through the same thing. Its only last month that the lst of their son has left the home for his job and taken his family, wife and trwo kids along with him to a new city. Now both of them are alone and miss them and us a lot. But since the area they ive in has no jobs around he had to move if he wants to make something in life. We are thinking of asking them to move in with us as they will need all the help they can as they grow old but final decision has to be theirs. Its sad but necessary part of life that kids have to move away and bild their own nests someday.

Two very beautiful girls. I know you love and miss them. As mothers and grandmothers we have a certain closeness to our children. I miss them terribly when they aren't around.
My sons don't even live in the same state as I do. So I miss them and my 3 grandsons really badly.
My daughter and her 7 children live 4 miles from me. Most of the time I have at least 2 of my grandchildren here with me. Many times they will stay for 2 or 3 weeks and then go home for a few days to a week. Like right now, the 2 that stay with me the most just went home Friday after being here for a week. I pick all of the children up from school many times. I take the ones home that want to go and the ones that want to come home with me, well they do come home with me.
I enjoy them being around and miss them terribly when they are not here. I even miss the ones that don't come here as much as they use to because they are getting older and have friends and a life. Oh my the babies are growing up...it's nice but sad at the same tim as they come here less as they grow up.

Hi Grandpa Bob! Yes, that could really be not a good feeling somehow. haha..I regualrly see all my nieces and nephews every weekend and then we will all go together at my father and grandmother's home. This is a regular activity for us all and if one week is missed, my father will be on the phone and demand where are the children, bring them now here! haha...
Take care and blessings to you!

Oh yes, I can so relate to this one. My daughter and her husband recently moved almost an hour away from me. I am happy for them that they found the home of their dreams and all but still...they are almost an hour away and with them, they moved my two grandchildren. Prior to this, our conflicting work schedules made visits difficult...now more than a little difficult. I gripe about it and my daughter just says...oh mom...you get them on school vacations and summer is almost here." its not enough. I am happy for them. I really am. I'm just sad for me.
. It's only a week gramps...you'll be ok. My best friend's daughter and grandson live on the other side of the country. She gets to see her grandson for 2 weeks in the summer and if she is lucky once during the holidays. I guess we could have it worse.

How sweet are you?! You're such a grandparent. LOL That's great though. I'm a mother of two. So, I'm one of those people who hands kids over to the grandparents, once in a while. Alright! Twice in awhile. But, I know what it feels like when "it's too quiet" because they're not around.

Now you can have a reset and do something for yourself. I think it's a hard work to look to a baby.
