In India, about fifty percent of literate people know at least three language. It is surprising but true. In south side lots of people know more than five languages. Even an illiterate knows two languages here. Do you think it to be an interesting fact? And what about you?

That's amazing. I have to admit, a lot of people in the U.S. don't know more than their own native language. . Although most of the younger, college-educated students usually do - because they're required to learn it either in middle school, high school, or in college. It's usually out of the French/Spanish/German variety though. Other languages, like Chinese, Japanese, and Russian are slowly rising to the top, though! People who aren't born in my country, and emigrate from a country where another language is spoken, though, usually know 3 languages (at the minimum). I personally couldn't handle learning 5 languages. I would probably confuse all of the words and make a big fool out of myself. . Right now, I'm learning Japanese and Russian - and those 2 are quite enough for me!
