In light of the violance along the border Obama is thinking about putting national guard troops on the border to stop the violance from spilling over into this country. What do you think about this? Is it the right move? Will it stop the violance that is already reaching into border states?

If they do it in enough numbers and don't give them rediculously restrictive rules of engagement, then ys, do it, I havce been calling for this for a long time now. I wish the governors had just done it, they are the commanders in chief in their states and do not need the president to do it, other than where the funding comes from, but i would just have sent the bill to the federal government anyway, decalare a state of emergency and open the door for federal funding like any other disaster. But they did not need Obama to do this, they have the authority to do it any time, they just couldn't get federal funding with out a presidential declaration.

First off, I think it's a good idea and should have been done a long time ago. The real problem is that the governors control their own national guards and for some reason never cared enough to do it themselves. With all the problems being caused in these border states, I think that the governors have been rather incompetent since it hurts their states to deal with the crimes committed by these illegals, not to mention the jobs taken by them.

It's sad too Task, because it's all about money. If the governor issues the marching orders, then the state foots the bill, but if the orders come from washington, then washington foots the bill, unfortunately, they are also under washingtons authority if they are called by washington and we remember what a pathetic attempt that was last time.
The governors have full authority at any time to declare an emergency or martial law situation with in their states and have full authority to issue a call up and deployment of National and State guard troops, including full on combat brigades, atrillery, combat jet and chopper air support, and what ever other hardware and personal they have. Most governors in their state constitutions also have authority to call up citizen militias by draft.
It is sad, it is a warzone down there and the only ones NOT treating it like one yet is our side, because the other side has been with increasing intensity. They better get their shytte together down there.

I'm with the other responses: IF they have the authority to use force of any kind when necessary without fear of being punished for it, then, yes, it would be the right move. Considering the liberal bleeding hearts in control of this country, though, I doubt they'd be given that type of authority, so it would be just another half baked gesture of trying to "do the right thing."

Right action, wrong leader. Obama is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, but the National Guard are state assets first and foremost. Obama should work with the Governors in question.
This isn't questioning Obama's authority to use the National Guard. He does have that authority and this is a legitimate use of the Guard. I just hope he respects the governors and the states enough to do it right.

Wasn't there a case a little while ago where a group of illegals brought suit against an American citizen? Weren't there two border guards who were just released after being imprisoned for doing their job?
How about we just begin by not allowing them access to our court system other than deportation? Our prison system is already filled with illegals so the violence has already spilled over into our country...

I'm surprised to hear this. I think he should as long as he is giving shooting instructions or arrest instructions and I hope this now includes illegals in this country. If we got rid of all the people that didn't belong here would we save government money? I think so. I just pray the violence doesn't spill over into this country. We are just going to have one big war and that wouldn't be pretty.
