How to Create Menus and Use Menu items in java??

As far i know that java provide awt package for making java GUI and we can create menus from its menu class but how can we make our menu and its items Working with the use of event Clases....

This thing require proper knowledge of applet and core java as well. It is not easy or fundoo type thing. Be serious before working on this technology.
