Hi all
I am looking for a good laughter :D And was wondering if there are some good english comedians out there ? Or some good series ?
It would be nice if it was standup comedy, or just a good comedy serie would be nice as well :)
Thx anyway ;)

Hi there,
If i'm honest i prefer the older stuff, when us Brits used to make genuinely original stuff which was very popular, if at times a little unusual.
Series such as:
Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, Father Ted, Bottom, Young Ones, Monty Python
These days you have the likes of The Office and the Catherine Tate show, neither of which i can stand personally. The latter i find is basically a huge rip-off of The Fast Show (which was pretty good) and Little Britain.
For standup stuff my favourite would have to be Billy Connolly, but some of the following are pretty good too:
Rowan Atkinson - mainly sketches -(Angus Deayton was his early standup partner)
Eddie Izzard, Bill Bailey, Jack Dee, Jasper Carrott
Happy viewing :)

When it comes to American standup Jeff Dunham is my current favorite. He does standup with puppets...but they're not your everyday puppets. Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy...who are all part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour and very funny, too. They do American redneck humor...as a group and also individually. George Carlin has some good standup out there...going back to the 1970's.
As for series...Comedy Central has a Last Comic Standing series...I don't know if you can get it though. Monty Python is great English humor as is the Mr. Bean series.

It depends on what sorrt of humour you are after and how easily offended you are...
I like:- The Peep Show/Mitchell & Webb : Armstrong & Miller; Not going Out; Have I got News for You; Never Mind the Buzzcocks; The Office
Stand-up... Ricky Gervais; Russell Howard; Jack Dee; Jimmy Carr
