I am currently a victim of UTI and I am on vacation!!! I have had several UTI's in my lifetime but I always ran to my OBGYN at the first sign of pain so I can be prescribed antibiotics. Unfortunately my OBGYN isn't here with me in ALANTA. I want to enjoy myself and not be scared to go to the bathroom because of the pain. I just began to feel the symptoms last night and I already drunk about 6 bottles of water. The pain has decreased a little but I still find myself running to the bathroon every 12 mins. thinking I have to urinate. Does anyone know some common remedies? I am willing to settle for anything to make the symptoms go away because when I return home in 5 days I will go to my OBGYN.

Drink SUGARLESS CRANBERRY juice 4x a day! It will keep the bacteria off the tissues. I've had UTI twice before and I've learned about this natural remedy from earthclinic.com. I went to see a doctor with my first UTI and gave me antibiotics. It did not go away until I tried sugarless cranberry juice. When I went back to my doctor and examine my urine, I was UTI free! I couldn't believe it....so the next time I had the UTI again, I bought a bottle of L&A sugarless cranberry juice again and sure enough the symptoms went away within 24 hrs. The juice is a bit bitter but tolerable...I am swearing by it. Try it so you can enjoy your vacation. Take care!

I was going to suggest the same thing. I know a few people who have found that a good cure.

I have had a bladder infection twice in my life. The first time, it scared me so bad. I had the feeling that I had to go to the bathroom to urinate. when I got there I felt pain, a little trickle came out with blood. I went to the ER, and was given medication and told to drink a lot of water and cranberry juice. The second time, I knew what it was and felt that there was no need to go to the doctors. I started drinking cranberry juice and water. I read on the internet that orange juice was good too. After a couple of days of flushing myself out, the pain, blood and symptoms were gone, and I felt great. Drinking a lot of water will make you continue to go to the bathroom, but the key is to drink it slow, and you won't have to go to the bathroom as often. Try to enjoy the rest of your vacation, and you will be fine by the time you return home, just keep taking liquids.

i've also been a victim of those dreaded UTI's, and i feel for you that you got one on your vacation they are very painful sometimes and running to the bathroom all the time is just so darn annoying! besides tons of water, cranberry juice is good because it will clean it out but dont drink too much of it (my doctor told me not to overdrink cranberry juice when you have a UTI) but your best bet is to find a walk in clinic maybe and get a prescription hope you feel better and enjoy your vacation!!

I used to suffer bladder infection when I eas pregnant, I don't know why. I remeber my midwife telling me to drink cranberry juice, which is very good to clear bladder infections. Hope you will feel much better and hope you enjoy your holidays.
