Well, they have drug it out long enough...Mrs C and her memory loss, now she doesn't remember yesterday muchless her life! ho-hum!!! But then yesterday's episode showed her talking to Niki and telling her about the conversation they had when Nicki was in Mexico and drunk and Mrs C just rattled it off without a hitch and not a single struggle of trying to remember..like she usually has. But this time it just popped out... that was just to odd to be beliveable.. not a single sturggle, no "I can't remember!" shouts, no um's nad oh's and other such sounds indicating struggle or searching.
I don't know, I just think they could have done a little better on that one...after all they have put us through it is kind of like they are also bored with the storyline and just want it over too!
So what do you think they will do now that Niki believes her....and then again, we could have the "she is really Marge" to rear its head (probably not now, but in later years!) and of course the as usual, long awaited bomb that Jill is not Mrs C's daughter....I'm gonna love that one! So is Jack!!!!

Yeah that was a bit fast considering how long they've been dragging it out. Writers couldn't think of anything else?
Oh wait, do you think that's why the DNA test didn't work? Jill not her daughter? Duh, I should have figured that one out. Typical soap opera twist. lol

Well, it could only be that Jill isn't really her daughter or she is really Marge....I just dont' think they'd go for the latter - Jill not being her daughter would be SOOOOO MUch better! That would rock the city and boy the reprocussions that would come from that would be a hoot!!!! Jack would go to town with that news!!!
Usually when they do something dramatic like a DNA and then never mention it again...something is going to come of it later!

Yeah meanwhile they never went for dental records or fingerprints. Dental records were FINALLY mentioned this week and they closed that one off pretty quickly (dentist retired, no records on 'deceased' patients). But fingerprints should have been really EASY to get hold of. After all Marge had a record, right?

Yeah, it is pretty silly. They throw out all this technical stuff and then just let it sit...not thinking us viewers are smarter than a first grader! Just makes the story line more boring and less interesting.. there are several ways of verifying identity...and they arent' doing any of them, granted to drag the storlyine out, but at some point.. it just gets silly and we start to get bored with it. Why don't she get some mental help or MRI or something to find out WHY she doesn't remember?

hello coffeebreak
i am also gonna love it if and when that the news comes out about Jill not being Mrs. Chancler's daughter as well. lol and yes, Jack will love that too! lol and i did get to watch yesterday's episode of the young and the restless. and at the end of the show, Mrs. Chancler did remember her's and Nicki's conversation without a problem when Nicki was drunk in that hole in the wall bar, that she was at in Mexico. and also, Mrs. Chancler needs to do the same thing with Jill, jar Jill's brain some like she did with Nicki yesterday on the show. and what was the deal on the dental records from Mrs. Chancler and Jill, like nobody knows where that they have both been going to the Dentist office at for all of these years? right. i am excited about watching the soap and seeing what that is going to happen.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

Yeah, it can be verified and it is silly that the writers are dragging it out so long when the obvious is so obvious!! Tons of ways to verify identity! I know they need to drag it out to ap oint to get the effect of the story and create additional stories, like the Kevin one....but still...DNA doesn't lie, but why has no one linked her DNA with anyone elses? What about the child she did have, since Jill is not hers? Oppss... another story line given away!! Now we can wonder who is her daughter since Jill isn't!

I'm pretty disappointed that Katherine completely forgot Murphy. That was just too convenient...and of course good old Murph is entirely too ready to step aside in favor of Katherine's old friends. I agree with you that the scene with Nikki was awkward, but I suppose it would be kind of tough to do it smoothly. Katherine is gaining and losing memories suddenly -- she could have struggled as you said, but pretty much every other time she's struggled she's been unable to remember what she was trying to and thus got really frustrated. I think the show is trying to be realistic in how it shows Mrs. C getting sudden flashes of insight as her memories abruptly return. She can't call back her memories on command; they just come to her.
The whole situation with Nikki was weird to begin with because Nikki has been so resistant to the idea that Katherine could still be alive. Suddenly, though, Mrs. C says just the right thing and Nikki is convinced and they're back to being old friends again. I guess that would be an awkward situation in real life, too. It had to be done sooner or later, but now we can move on to more interesting storylines, like that upcoming DNA re-test. I still like the story (I think Jeanne Cooper has been amazing throughout!), but I'll be much happier if Mrs. C gets her memories of Murphy back.

I think they are just getting ready to wind it up... they did the deed and now have the kevin storyline as the branch out and now they wrap up the first one....Jeannie Cooper has done fabulously iwth the role. SHe is very good! I just thought that they could have done a little bit more in the way of making the memory more believeabel that it just happened.. like make them talking about something else and a word or phrase spoken by either of them, triggered something and Mrs C would spark up and say - "yes..like you did in mexico when you called me.." or something like that, but to just walk in and say basically, "oh, by the way, remember when we talked on the phone when you were in mexico...."..
And yeah,a they shouldn't have let her forget Murphy and friends..I was hoping they'd bring those 3 on as main characters for awhile! I get so tired of watching nothing but the rich and wealthy people!
But yeah, I am waiting for the DNA test to come in that Jill is not a Chancellor!! Which means, neither is Cane or Billy, although he still will be an Abbott. The Kevin one is just to scary for me at the moment.. to close to reality!!! I hate watching about child abuse on shows.

I wonder how they are going to handle that line about the DNA not matching. They matched
them before when they revealed that Jill was Katherines daughter so how are they going
to get out of that one.
Maybe someone switched the DNA samples a few years ago when they first tested them? It
should be interesting to see.
What I also don't understand is how did she all of a sudden remember, now I don't remember
his name, the old guy that found her after the accident, oh yeah, Murphy, How did she
now remember him when she didn't before? She went to live with him again? I missed the
show today.

It hasn't been on for TWO DAYS here causeof college basketball!! See why I don't like sports!!
They will probably have it be something like Jill's real mother made the DNA switch cause she wanted Jill to have the Chancellor money since she didn't have any. And yeah, the remembering thing is rather gettin old nad out of hand... some she remembers one way, others its like she never forgot.. we can't keep up!!! I bet the whole thing will fizzle down when she hooks up with Amber to help find Kevin and it will all come back. I don't know why she hasn't gone forsome kind of memory treatment all this time. Oh well, I'm bored with it and lord have mercy, can we please move on with the stupid Sharon line and the fighting foursome (Cane/lily/chloe/billy ) it is really getting old!!! I was enjoying watching the show, but they drag this stuff out so long and repeat things so often...

I don't mind too much if a sporting event preempts Y&R because I know the actors and writers have really tough schedules they have to follow. I have a lot of respect for people who work on soaps, even the not-so-good ones -- they have to work much harder for much less money than a lot of other people in entertainment do. Unfortunately, I'm much more into the NBA than college ball so I'm not too wrapped up in March Madness at the moment.
About Murphy: well, I'm not so sure Katherine really remembers him, but she has been told about what he did for her. Maybe she's gradually getting ALL of her memories back. I'm glad Murph isn't getting completely written off the show.

Uhhh, that is why I haven't been able to watch it. I wasn't sure if it wasn't on or if
I was just working later. I am getting bored with it too but I guess the writers might
be having a hard time coming up with something good.
