Do we live as long as our parents?

Do you think there is any correlation between how long our parents live and how long we live? I don't know if any part of that is hereditary, though I understand that how you take care of yourself is a big factor in your life span, as well. I just wondered if long or short life spans run in families. In my family, my maternal grandmother died at the age of 69. However, my mother is 84 and is in good shape for her age. My paternal grandmother died at the age of 89. My father, however, passed at the age of 75. So looking at that, there does not appear to be any link. What do you think?
