Who do you think should be responcible to see that you get an education. Should it be your parents? You village or community? or the Federal Governmnet? Please support your answer.

I think the parents should be responsible for the education, and the decision of whether to homeschool or to send to a public or private school. I think public schools should answer only to the community and perhaps the state, and not to the Federal Government. State and community guidelines for schools would make the schools a lot more receptive to parental input, and a lot less likely to subject the students to unwanted indoctrination of immoral lifestyles and political programming that is becoming increasingly common under the current system. With the community controlling the schools, it would be much easier to get rid of bad teachers and any problems that were detected. Under the present system, there is not much chance of changing unwanted agendas being promoted by the Feds, and passed down through the schools.

I agree you keep the control at the lowest level of government. there would be more concern that the child is learning. Let the parents decide where the student goes to school.

Federal Grants are increaseing faster than inflation. college costs are increaseing even faster. Inflation goes up 3%, Federal Grants go up 8% and college costs go up 10-12% so then next years Federal Grants go up to cover the cost and the cycle continueds. Federal aid should be based on merit not financial need. As it is a person with need can be failing for three semesters and still receive federal aid. This is wrong. To receive Federal Aid you need to be passoing all your courses.

When I was young, it was my parents. When I got to college, it was the minister of Education. But over all, I think I'm responsible for my education.

People might have different answeres in different countries. In our culture, it is the parents who are responsible for the education of their children. If the children can pass the examination, the parents would spare nothing, even borrow from relatives. In extreme cases, the government and charity organizations gives allowances as supplement for tuition and living costs. And they can also arrange student loans with involvement of banks. The student apply for on campus parttime job to add some much income.

First of all, your parents should hold the primary responsibility to get you a proper education through college if they can afford you one. Federal government should also taking the educational program seriously. For our next generation, the government should provide funds to fund those school program. Don't you agree with it?

I beleive in Vouchers. This will allow the parents to provide the type of education they choose. If you government runs the schools then they will decide what your children learn.

Hello bob. I believe that the parents should take the responsibility of giving their child the proper education. However, if the parents don't have the means to send their child/children to school, then the local government should step in. Thanks. Happy mylottin!
