Yesterday was a fairtly nice day for March in Pennsylvania, and my 7-year old was begging to ride her bike! I wen outside, and sure enough, the tires were as flat as pancakes. I went over to my neighbors to borrow the pump, and while I had it, I pumped up the wheels on the "big" bike. You see where this is going? I am a very short woman and this is a man's bike, so I had to run it up next to a curb to get on! I'm sure the neighbors were looking, but the heck with them. Let me see THEM get on a bike after 15 or so years! It was shaky at first, but I live on a nice circle, with a cool little hill around it. My daughter coached me through it, and I went around about 10 times, which is about 1 mile total! My legs were not even sore, surprisingly. It was really fun to have the cold wind in my face, and it brought back great momories of riding my bike as a kid. I plan on riding a lot this Spring now as part of my exercise routine! Do any of you ride bikes? I know in a lot of countries, it is a usual mode of transportation, but here in the USA, not so much. It's more for recreation! Do any of you ride for fun now? Feel free to share your story here, and have a great day!

i always rode bikes with my kids. it was so much fun. when i was a kid your bike was your life! we lived for riding. i think it is great to encourage your kids to get out and get riding. i had an injury a few years back and bike riding is something i can no longer do. i miss it so much!
