I think it matters to employers, beauty/obesity,etc...and it shouldn't, the job should always go to the capable. It stinks, whether they do it consciously or subconsciously.

of course you have to look presentable because its a job interview. You have to wear proper attire and you should act accordingly. Proper hygiene is important in this matter. Well when beauty literally is asked i guess so, because some of the interviewer prefer to have employees who have a face value.

I do not think that beauty matters in an interview, not unless you applied in a beauty contest or in a company that encourages beautiful applicants. On most companies, beauty does not really matter. What's important is that you have confidence in yourself in presenting to the employeer.

For me its not exactly the beauty itself but your personality does matter when you are going for an interview. Because not only how you perform or the attitude that they are looking but how you carry on yourself. You should be presentable and good looking when you have an interview for a job that you want.

I don't think beauty matters during job interviews however, how you bring yourself does matter as it goes on overall pleasing personality. I guess the most important during job interviews are the qualifications you have which relate to the job you will be handling.

I think it depends on the type of job your applying for. Let's say you're applying for a commercial model, or a receptionist of a hotel or a sales agent then comely charm and beauty is a big factor in order for you to get hired. Other jobs that does not require beauty are deskjobs or behind the scenes job that will not let you involve or come face to face with clients/customers (i.e. radio announcers, call center agents, telephone operators, etc.). But in reality, having a physical appeal is a plus to any job interview.

i think, more than the beauty, what matters most during interviews is the presence of mind, the physical appearance i.e. tidyness of clothes and grooming, and the confidence of the candidate. this is what i look in the candidate when i am interviewing one. Similarly, whenever I go to attend one, I take care that i am confirming to the above.

When saying beauty not exactly the physical appearance but at least be more presentable and formal when you have an interview because aside from how you answer the questions on your interview personality also is considered.

Yep, that's how the human mind works.A male likes a pretty female around and a female looks better towards males when an attractive female is around. It's all around how pretty, sexy, etc. you are.

Well it depends on the job, but for the most part...yes, I do think that beauty at least helps when you're being interviewed for a job. Not saying that it happnens all the time or anything, but attractive people do better in life than unattractive people. Thats actually a proven fact, its been tested in numerous studies. People like looking at a pretty face. Especially for waitress jobs and that type of thing. Being attractive definitely matters.

Assuming that you are talking about a woman being interviewed, here is the scoop. Should it matter? No, in most cases her beauty will not be critical to her performing the job. Maybe for some jobs it is. Will it matter? Like it or not, I think in most cases if a man is doing the interviewing, it will matter. I cannot speak for the situation when a woman is doing the interviewing.

I believe so. You can right away catch your attention. I have proved it when i applied for a job. Pleasing personality is one of the requirements nowadays in most of the companies.

Yes, it does matter. And it depends on the type of job also. If you have applied for a job as a receptionist or for a front office, they would look at you from top to bottom. So you must prepare yourself according to the expectations of the interview board. For ladies, what she is wearing by way of make up and jewelary also matters. Both should be light, I suppose, but you know the best. A lady should always carry a pure leather bag and nopt an artifial leather bag.

Yeah it matters, depending on what company you are applying. In some companies, looks matter while in others they don't.

I believe its the first impression, beauty does not matter, it is how you mark your first impression. how you carry yourself and how you act on a given situation.

of course, I do. it absolutely affects! as a not-pretty woman, this is unfair. but everybody loves beauty and I do. today I watched television, they say even animals like the beauty better. they did some experiments, not scientific but still made me feel..you know. -_-
