meaning of artificial intellegence

A.I. is the intelligence of machines basically... it is a branch of computer science engineering. it is the science of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. Scientists are actually trying to simulate human intelligence in machines... well i do not know about its effect on common man, but i do not think we actually need machines to be as intelligent as us... there is no necessity of it..

The term is used loosly nowadays because of the definition of what makes us human and the definition of a computer. When the definition of a human mind meets the definition of how a computer functions then it is considered Artificial Intelligence. But really it's becoming the ability for a computer to complete a task and run the possible solutions before it does one complete and correct action.

Artificial intelligence or AI.is the intelligence of machines and the branch of computer science which aims to create it. The term was coined by John McCarthy in 1956. One probable out come of this science will be the development of Robots that will do the mundane jobs, thus making life much easier. One of the first applications will be teaching, where the robot will be programmed to teach children from Kindergarten through University, and all without leaving home.

Perhaps artificial intelligence really arrived years or even decades ago even without robotics. Perhaps an interesting advantage is that man will not have to rethink certain situations since a program will handle e.g. guiding people in the entry of data, helping people get help when needed. Besides saving time and repetition of routine tasks, artificial intelligence is being used for public safety and economic transactions. We find a lot of logic embedded in ordinary daily living. One interest could be the development of artificial intelligence that could educate us to be better people? Cheers.

Nice topic.!!! Artificial Intelligence is a concept or a idea where computers will be made to have thier own brain or will be having decesion making capacity just like humans. So many logical and reasoning abilities will be pre-fed into the computer chips so that it responds instantly to the situations just like we do. But unlike the statement in Terminator movie...Machines can't defeat humans :-)
