Are you 100% pleased with your responses that have been rated 'best'?

When I rate 'best response' to someone I really try to make sure it is the best response in the discussion. If there doesn't seem to be anyone that really put their heart into it I just never rate a best response. Why do I do this? Because within a week of signing up for mylot I got 3 best responses! Woohoo, way to go, right? I didn't even really feel that I have given my best to any of these discussions. And when I looked around the discussion I noticed all the other responses pretty much seemed even crappier than mine! I was truly appauled! Now I put my 100% best into every response I give. I haven't been rated best response since then, but I feel better because I know that I rate myself my own best response for every response I give.
What about you? Have you gotten 'best response' for a response that you felt you didn't deserve? How do you choose to rate others? Do you always put forth 100% on every response? What do you feel is the mark of a truly 'best response'?

I have actually felt I didn't deserve to get the best response but just on this one response that I have but for my other best responses, I'm very pleased with them 'cause I know I voiced out my opinion well and give my best thoughts and put an effort to it on what I have to say. Like you, I give responses to those who takes the time to mean what they say, a respond that's coming from the heart and mind and would really benefit others and a response that is outstanding above all. After all, that's the purpose of giving best response, right? It's choosing which is the best.

Yet sometimes I don't feel that I can choose the best from the meager responses others give me. I don't mind the icon codes galor and all that. But, when it seems everyone has typed off a 2 sentence response to a good post that I've started, if would seem almost wrong of me to award any of those people a best response! I don't feel hurt that I haven't gotten a best response in awhile. I figure that someone must have had a better response than me. But, it was my best response that I could give. It just bothers me that others don't seem to put as much effort into their responses. And I feel ashamed that I used to be one of those people!
