In Case of Emergency

Last night my son was attacked and taken to the hospital unconsious in an ambulance. I am thankful he was released early this morning in fair condition, but angry that no one contacted me. He is a grown man now (28) and lives in another state. I have taken care to put my phone number in the appropriate cell phones under the contact name ICE (in case of emergency). I thought most emergency responders and people knew about this important information. If no one gets the information what good is it? Do you know to put this info into your cell phone? Do you carry an emergency card in your wallet or just your credit cards and i.d?

Wow~ hope your son has a full recovery! That is a horrible thing when you aren't even contacted. I would have never thought to put an ICE number in my phone. I do have my mom in my cell, so I imagine that if anything happened they would check my cell and call mom.

I think that it's bad that no one even thought to contact you. If in his cell phone your information was under the contact name ICE if nothing else they should have wondered what it was about. Plus, I am sure your son also had your number under something like "mom" or "mama" or however he calls you! I'm sorry this has happened to your son but am glad that he is okay.
