Hitch was on TBS tonight. I own this movie. I saw it in the theater. I bought the DVD. I was channel surfing and saw that it was on. So, I decided to watch it, after 11:30pm, all cut up with commercials. Why?? I own it on DVD. I can watch it tomorrow and not stay up all night, without commercial interruptions, so what am I doing?? LOL. Anyone else do this, or am I crazy? :D

I think it can be a case of that when a movie, that you like comes on TV, you will tend to watch it no matter how many times you have seen it. I do the very same thing even though I know I could watch it and enjoy it more on DVD without all the cuts and commercials. I guess it is just one of those weird habits we have

You are not alone, I will quite often being surfing channels and end up watching a film which I own on dvd. What makes it worse is they often cut out chunks of the movie so that they can fit it into a specific time slot. I think I'm probably too lazy to get up and find the dvd to stick in and watch so settle for the tv version.

Lol, laziness is probably the root of my problem, too. Serves us right to have to watch a butchered movie! LOL

I actually don't. I can search and search and find nothing to watch except a great movie I own and I'll just keep searching because I can't see the point of watching it with commercials and editing (butchering) when I could just go grab the DVD and watch it that way... I don't, however, go get the DVD. Instead I just keep channel surfing, complaining that there's nothing on.

Could it be that a) you really, really, really like the movie or b) there was nothing else on worth watching or even c) you had nothing else to do? Perhapes getting up from your comfy spot and getting out the DVD (possibly in another room) and putting it in the player (on the other side of the room) and then getting back to your comfy spot and settling in again (with an additional remote) was just too much to take on at that time of night? LOL

Heh, I do that quite a lot of the time. I own a ton of movies on dvd but I never actually get around to watching them until they're on tv. Then I'm like "Oh cool, *insert movie name* is on Friday night. I'll have to watch that". It doesn't make much sense heh... but I think we all do it.
