I don't know about losing weight at night, but I have been trying this new diet of drinking milk. Check out my website where I talk all about it, including a log updated weekly of my own progress with the diet. http://www.squidoo.com/milkforweightloss

Kris- Losing weight on the overnight is probably going to be the most difficult thing you've done. This of course is my humble opinion but it makes sense from all I've read on weight-loss. It seems our body is made to be up with the sun and bed with the sun. This said, being on a shift that changes your body's natural response means you have to figure out how to compensate. You need to figure out how to get exercise, sleep, and eat properly. I would think that you could, as long as you're not on rotations, easily work out a system where you are getting plenty of sleep, and giving your body down time without food in order to loose weight. However, if you're like many who have a family this can be difficult. I'm guessing you're home at 7am or so. Set yourself up to eat only when up ok? Try to set a time when you won't eat anymore until the next day at breakfast. Meaning, though it's tempting to eat all through the time you're awake and after your shift, don't. Try to do some sort of winddown exercise when you get off work. Exercising before bed, lightly, can help get the circulation going and stimulate the body into rest. The same follows, set your calorie intake to be less then you burn. A good way to do this slowly is to start by just taking 100 calories out of your diet. Do cardio 5 days a week, and strength building/flexibility training 3 -5 days per week. If you're not used to exercising simply start with cardio 3 days per week for 20 minutes each day and build up. You may want to cut out the soda as that will help you cut calories a great deal. Switch to green and white teas, and water. Don't do caffeine capsules or such. If you're really interested in a great starting point. Dr Weil's 8 weeks to optimun health is a wonderful place to start. Namaste-Anora
