Do you write poems and/songs, articles etc...?

I love composing poems but have a big problem... I just wont write down my ideas. I have composed poems in my head so many times which I now wish I had captured on paper. I cant remember most of them. Sometimes it is inconvenient for me to jot down the lines as they form in my head and vow to mentally record it and pen the words when I get the chance, but... it rarely happens that way. I am so annoyed sometimes but that is a habit I really need to get over. I need to get stuff out of my head and on to some paper. Stories, articles, poems, my first book are all crammed in my head waiting to come out. I meet so many people who write stuff yet I just cant seem to get that urge to sit and do the same. Do you write in any form? How did you get started? I mean did/do you have any of the difficulties I have where you dont spend quality time to record your ideas? Any advice is welcomed as I have lost so many ideas already but how do I bend my mind to sitting down and writing?

Yes of coarse ,i do.Since i am a student ,writing articles and paragraphs are quite normal.I can't actually write songs but then i can sing. i've been learning music for 5 years now. Poems are perhaps the best-easy to learn and great fun to recite.I've tried my hand at poems and in fact, felt i wasn't to bad fo it either. After all as my teacher says----Writing is all about practice and pratice ,once u get the hang of it,it becomes easy.

Back in Elementary and HS, my English teacher always asked me and my classmates to write down our thoughts. I used to like the thing. I'm not much of poetic and composer but I'd like to get those from someone I like. It would be sweet. But I like articles and blog stuff. On my MySpace I have written tons of blogs and I guess I enjoy blogging, it is sort of like my diary online. When I was younger I used to write down and have my own diary, but my writing speed is not on par like my typing skills, so the thoughts I have easily fade and mostly I forget what to I want to write down. When I get really in the mood, I could write down my thoughts for like 2 hours or so. Not really a writer-to be, I'm just enjoying writing my stuff.

Blogging seems to be a great way of sharing and receiving ideas. I have been toying with the idea of starting my own blog but have not gotten around to exploring what blogging is all about. Maybe that would help me to finally start getting my ideas/writing out there. Thanks for sharing smooch.

Hello tjades! I also love to write especially poems and articles. I never tried to write even a single song yet. I published some of my write - ups to triond but because of lesser earnings there, I stopped writing for a little while. Ideas just came out to me eventually and what I usually do is get a piece of paper and start writing. I am more comfortable writing on the paper than typing at the computer. If I am in the mood to write, I can finish it with only one hour but if I'm not, I can't even make even one paragraph.

Hi! :) i'm a college student, and I'm the associate editor of our school paper. I write a lot and that's why I decided to be a campus journalist. I've experienced different types of work - writing poems, feature articles, news articles, opinion, etc. I'm also like you. Sometimes it's just so bothersome to sit down and write ideas, isn't it? I have disappointed myself again and again for forgetting ideas that i have sworn to write on paper once i got the chance to do so. But since I really need ideas for my articles, and we have deadlines as well, I have learned to really get into the trouble of writing them. Maybe what you can do is really try to shake off the habit. Why not set a deadline for yourself? Or maybe a goal? What do you intend to do with the poems you compose? My uncle once told me to compile my poems into a book, and i thought it was a good idea, so that's one goal that keeps me motivated to write down my ideas no matter how bothersome it is. Or, if you really can't get your ideas on paper word for word, you can just jot down some notes about the ideas, and you can polish them when you already feel like doing so. :) i hope that helps. good luck!

It does help Maian. it helps getting ideas from someone who goes through the same thing. I did push myself into that habit once but I just fell right back out of shape again. I find it so tiresome to sit and write. I might compile a book with my peoms and publish it or just have personal copies and share relevant peoms at various occassions if I get the chance to. Thanks for our advice. I really need to work on that.

I used to write poems and some short stories before. What I did during those times, I go to a place like a park which is more relaxed so that I can write down anything that goes into my head

Without the pen I could also compose a poem in my mind, however once I got a pen and a paper I write it down. I used to write short poems as well and have it published in our school organ during high schools days. Had to write articles and short stories in helphing the children for their theme notebooks. Had to write something to express our feelings until we find ourselves now writing blogs at our sites and participating in the discussions at mylot.

I write poems and short stories. This thing with writing started back in elementary. I watch cartoons and tend to create a love story in them. Then when I entered high school, I had a lot of crushes and had always day dreamed about what if this turn out this way, until I find myself creating that story in my mind. When I can no longer contain it, I write it down in a used notebook. The passion for poems started when just this one time I felt so lonely. I felt so alone that time that I just poured my heart out in a poem. But writing was, for me, more of a hobby. I seldom write poems but I compose haikus when I'm bored. I also write short stories whene there's a story running wild in my mind.

Hi tjades i used to write poems in MARATHI as am from India. and i also dnt like to sit and write thhst stuff. but i used to write it on orkut in Kavita (Poem) community. where other members does the smae. and give reply to each others poem. and where u get the motivation and more ideas to write all this stuff. but if am not in front of my pc and if got any idea in mean time then i dnt make it loose. i desperately get it down on paper and then make it write on orkut and in my blog too. i think when u gets such odeas in mind then dnt loose those. try to write it it down somewhere whether on paper or in ur blog. i think u got the point. if u dnt like to sit and write it on paper then use internet if u are as internet savvy. Have nice day ahead and enjoy poems too.

My advice is Just do it!When you have some idea, you can write down on the paper, and then replenish when you free. And remember:you write something just for fun,not other reason. I like write some articles in my blog,in the blog,I can express my opinion,my idea and my feeling freely.

Hi Tjades, I have the same problem, the good ideas usually come when I semi-asleep. It's impossible to get up and write the articles at this stage. So I put a pen and some papers next to my bed, whenever I got inspiration, I just jot down the main point, usually a word or a sentence. Otherwise the thoughts will gone forever and ever. Sometimes I really sit down and write out the whole article, but that really happens. So the drawer is full of small pieces of paper. One fine day when i have the urge to write, I will have a lot of ready topics to write to.

yes i got 2 blogs of my own where i got some articles which i have written on my own. i love writting because it helps me too keep my mind state on paper just in order to understand what i am thinking exactly. Well my blogs are not public much though, because they are a bit personal for me, though being on a public site and visible no one much visits because there are 100 bloggers who blog everyday and earn from it. but i write just for my satisfaction. i get the ideas just from my mind when i miss my past days, college friends, my homeland, life everything when you are a deep thinker you can think anything possible..and make the best out of it.. happy mylotting
