Does anyone here know Odesk?!

I have tried signing up for Odesk.com but, to this day, I haven't starting yet. They required me to pass a series test; I am not through with all of them. Here's what bothers me the most. They have a tool wherein they can determine that you are doveted to the work you have accepted at that particular time. My question is, am I putting my personal information at risk? I don't know what the term is but something like a "keylogger" (not sure) Can someone please reassure me or warn me about the credibility of this site.

Yes, odesk is another freelance site to earn an extra or fulltime income doing Virtual Assistant work. Nope , you not risking your information in Odesk, they are BBB accredited business security with logo on their site. I am a member since 2006 and I dont have any problem with my information or payment. If your are a provider you are only required to put your payment option such as paypal, wire transfer, payooner and etc.

Thank you for this information. This is very helpful. I think I should finish all the tests to get started.

I was referred to Odesk by a good friend of mine who actually has gotten jobs from them - but I have yet to get a job from them and I have been a member for over a year now. He told me that you have to accept jobs for little or no pay in the beginning to build up your "resume" and then you will eventually get paid jobs. I personally would rather not work for free, so I don't do it. I'd rather spend my time volunteering.

Hi, I had a similar problem. I downloaded the oDesk software, but nothing ever happened! I had the same concerns about my personal information. It makes sense to stay away from stuff like this I guess. :)
