I made a delicious soup! It turned out so good.

I took a roast and put it in the post ( a huge pot) I then added my spices (garlic, blk. pepper, meat tenderizer, salt), chopped carrots 1 cup, 2 medium size onions, 7 potatoes chopped in medium sizes, one large can of white hominy When it was all done and tender enough to eat I took the meat out and cut it up into large chunks I then took 3/4 cup of flour and mixed in some hot water, stirred real good and slowly poured this into my pot(having to add more water) The broth was thick not as I usually make it. It was more like a cream of something soup. It was so good and filling. I still have half a pot and will put a huge bowl away in the freezer for later. Just what did you have for dinner? Was it a new thing for you? Thanks for responding.

wow! This sounds so good - why didn't you invite me? It also sounds economical which is the way to go these days., My son cooked last night - baked chicken rice and peas with gravy and green beans. He cooks so well - we all enjoyed it. I don't do much cooking these days unless the whole family is here. I can cook well and like ot bake but what iwth the part time job i am so tired when I reavh home so my son or the babysitter has already cooked for everyone. whe the tourist season is over thne I have more time. Blessings

I'd be glad for you to come for dinner. You have a babysitter that cooks for everyone, wow how lucky for you. That is nice of your son to take on that role when it's needed too. Make sure to thank him and her so they feel appreciated. That is so nice.

Well, the babysitter is more of a Nanny for the twins. They will be 3 in June so it is getting easier for her as they are almost potty trained and play together very well (most of the time). She works from 12 to 8 pm but leaves earlier if I am home. I cannot mange he bathing etc so she does this and dresses them for bed etc and I just have the fun stuff! I do appreciate all that she does and pay her extra to do jobs for me that I cannot physically manage.

That does sound good! I love soups of all types and my favorites are home made soups. So this is just up my ally. lol. The other night I made a poor man's shepard's pie and it was pretty good. 1 lb. ground beef 1 can peas 1 can sweet corn 1 medium onion, diced 1/3 c. sugar 8 medium potatoes 2 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese Boil potatoes, mash and season to taste with milk and butter. Brown ground beef and onion with salt and pepper. When cooked, add peas, corn, sugar. Let simmer until heated through. In 13x9 pan place meat and vegetable mixture in bottom of pan. Cover with mashed potatoes and sprinkle cheese on top. Place in oven on BROIL until cheese is bubbly or light brown. I loved this recipe and was happy I tried it.

hello huston, welcome to the lot. I hope you enjoy being here. Yes, it surprised me with just how good it was with a thick soup instead of a thinner broth.
