Job or home?

I stopped working after marriage, then I had a baby.I never thought of working as I wanted to spend my time with him,and bring him up in a proper way.And I am happy for what I did as that has been a wonderful time.Ever since my relatives used to tell me that I should take up a job as there is no point sitting at home after studying so much. Now my son goes to a play school. At times I feel it would be good to be independent. But when I see the reactions of the kids of my neighbour who is working I feel very bad.I don't want to see my son in the same position. Should I take up a job or stay with my son?

I spend the first year and a half at home with my son. But then I found a job opportunity at a drop-in kids center where I can take my son with me to work everyday. So he gets the interaction and raising of me being their with him and not someone else, as well as daily interaction with kids like he would have got at daycare or play school. I think that was the ideal situation for me and my son at least, everyone else is different, and you are the mom and know what is best for your family.

I wish I could stay home with my son every day! You are the mom and know what is best for your child and right now it's best for you to stay with him and take care of him. If you can find something from home that's a different story but I would quit my job and stay home with my son in an instant if I could duplicate my salary.
