Do your finger nails always "crack"?

I like to have long finernails so I can paint it pretty color. But it cracks sometimes. When I wash dishes, I put on gloves to do that, make sure my hands won't get hurt by the chemical things and the nails are in good condition. People says it might be because I'm lack of some vitamin or something so it is easy to "break". Have you ever came across this problem? I don't like when one of these nails is broken, I need to cut it off, it looks so weird and ugly but I don't want to cut them all at the same time...

i have always had good strong nails but i don't like them long. there are things u can get to go on your nails that makes them stronger. i think polish sometimes is not good for them.

Yes, I have had the same problem before too. My nails would split, peel and bend. I hated it. I now take a Skin, Nails and Hair Support vitamin. So far, it has kept my nails growing and strong. I want to see how far it will work for me. So far so good. I was also told that I should use a nail polish with Keratin in it too. I plan to use a nail polish that is made for strengthening ny cuticles. Try this and see how it works. It seems like my nails will break when I am in a lot of water. I wonder if they have nail polish that protects against from water.. Maybe like water resistant??

I like mine short and I find it simple and beautiful. I think shorter nails are recommendable rather the long ones. Yous should try having a short one.

I had the same experience before so I decided not to grow my nails anymore. I just keep them short and simple without any nail polish. Besides I have a baby that might get hurt if I grew my nails. My suggestion to you is to use garlic and scrub your nails with it. It may smell terribly bad but that works. That is what my friend has been doing for a long time. According to her that works but I tried that only once because I can't stand the smell of the garlic. I don't know of any vitamins you could take but that is the only suggestion I could give.

Oh I do always do that becau seI'm a big fan of garlic. I peel the garlic and squeesh them by knife. I will try to scrub it next time, it sounds interesting but I would try to help, thank you ^_^

I would say that you would need more vitamins and calcium. But if they are splitting alot it could be a little fungus in your nails. If you go to a nail salon to get your nails painted then you could always ask them what they think the problem could be. But I would start off with vitamins and calcium first.
