Wirless G router won't work with my computer

A week ago, I bought a Wireless G router. It doesn't show any connection on my home network. I have a Dell computer with Windows Vista. And I also have a DSL modem. It just won't connect to the Internet with the G router. I returned it, and I exchange a N - router. Surprisingly, I don't have to do anything to it. It automatically connected to the Internet. What is wrong? I followed the exact step. Anyone knows?

I may be that your receiver is running at "Wireless N only". The wireless should be at the same protocol. eg. Wireless B to wireless B; wireless G to wireless G. At default, it runs all the protocol. Someone may have set it to run at one protocol only

It is good that your laptop is already up and running. There are a lot of factors why the G router didnt work with your laptop. Maybe because of firmware version, the standard of yoru wireless card. What is important right now is that your laptop is working fine. Happy online!

I don't see the problem, it appears you has one that wasn't working, you got a new one and now it's working.
