Some people said that travelling is for old people. When they retired, they have plenty of time to travel around. Do you agree with him? For me, I have different opinion from that. When you are getting older, you might not have the energy to travel around. You might not that healthy as before. You might rather stay home. Why not while you are young. You do what you desire to do; Once you start a family, you might not have time for it.

I traveled around the world for just over one year when I was 20 years old. I was very lucky that I did go then when I was younger and more energetic. I let out my home to get a monthly income and got a working holiday for Australia. I bought my airline ticket with my savings and took a limited amount of money with me. During my trip I met a man and sometime later we were married. We had a son but we did get divorced. I went to university and began my career as a primary school teacher. I did another long trip of a few months when I was between two teaching contracts. However it wasn't the same as my trip when I was younger that was much longer. When I came home I had time of being poor before I began my next teaching contract. Many fellow teachers have said that they would love to travel around the world when they retire. However good health when old is not a certain thing. A couple of years ago my disabled son was born and so my life is different now to when I was a carefree 20 year old. I am pregnant again and luckily went on my trip to South Africa in January this year. I met a some older people traveling around the world by cruise ship. That would be very nice for any old person to do but only if they have loads of money. If a young person gets the opportunity to travel around the world I would say take it for there might not be another opportunity.

I'd like to travel around the world as long as I'm still in a good health condition,no matter if I'm still young or old.As long as I have a time for vacation, enough money and in a good health,I will take the trip around the world.

I agree. I was in a cruise with my family last year and I noticed that most people on board the ship were old. I was like I don't think I would want to travel the world in that age. I wanted to travel the world after college but I didn't get a chance to for financial reasons but when I did a few yrs later I did enjoy it. I can't imagine myself having the same energy and excitement if I travel the world at age 75. Two years ago we gave my parents-in-law a gift to travel to the Caribbean on a cruise also and all they talked about when they came back was the foods. There was not a lot of talk about all other activities...just some shopping and picture taking which is natural tourist instinct but my mom-in-law hated shopping because she doesn't like walking. I guess when one gets old walking is a pain in the butt. On the other hand maybe it's also good for people to travel when they're old but I can't imagine them traveling all by themselves...there's got to be families or friends traveling with them. I might still want to travel when I get old cause I will not have a lot of action going on with my life anymore...so might as well travel the world before I leave it.
