What the star means in mylot?

Hello guys, i am still new in here. I watch there are star sign fill with a value inside it next to username, but i still don't have that star sign. What the meaning of that star and the value? Is it related with our posting? Or is it related with the earning we got? Please share your knowledge. Thank you ^_^

you will get the stars prob once you reach about 200 posts, its a rating system people can rate your discussions and replies and these make up your star number. 1 being the worst and 10 being the highest. Its basically a reflection of your standing here in mylot. To my knowledge it doesnt affect your earnings.

By the way you have 9 at your star ^_^ Could you give some advice? Which one do you doing more often, is it start a new discussion or responding some posting? Thank you.

just post to be honest I aint concerned about my star, its great having a high number. But be yourself and people will rate you as they see fit when you reply to discussion's.

Hi, you will find star beside your name once you will reach the mark of 100. Star is all about the importance of your posts according to the users. Mylot administration has nothing to do with it. If you are reading other's post then you must have seen the sign of +,- and ! ' there. When some one rate your posts as plus it will raise your rating and vice versa. the '!' sign is for the posts that violate the terms and conditions of the Mylot. Hope you got the point.

Your explanation is very detail, thank you very much. So does it mean that we have to start a discussions to get the star? Or probably we can get the start by only responding 100 posts? Because i am very rare to start discussion, but i really love to respond a discussion ^_^ Thank you.

Posts are counted for both starting a discussion and response, however, when you comment on a response there will not be any addition to your total. It does not matter whether you are starting a discussion or posting, you will get stars as soon as you will reach the hundred mark.

I saw a lot of people with only 200 posts or something but with 7 or 8 stars. I guess is it because they have good quality posts? Or is it something like that. I hope i can get a star too. I have never gotten one.
