We have both millions of good and bad bacteria and most bad stay dormant but if on antibiotics then they can become no longer dormant and you can get infections. My husband was on antibiotics and got an infection called c-diff and had to have colon and rectum removed or would have died within hours. Hospital did not catch infection from the many times I took him in with abdominal pain and diarrhea which they should have knowing he had recent hospital stay on the antibotics. I know most people dont even think about these types of things and just wondering how many of you are aware?
