How can I prove I'm innocent in court?

About a month ago I was wrongfully arrest for battery. I DO NOT LAY MY HANDS ON ANYONE!! IM INNOCENT! Here's some background on the case : For about a month my former roomate and i have been fighting, she stole my phone, keyed my ex boyfriends car, and called the cops on us several times to try to get me kicked out. I went over there to pack my stuff to find out the locks have been changed. As soon as I walked in the door she called the cops. I'm in my room fighting with my roomate and her friend from across the streets, when a neighbor comes in and attacks me! Right in my own room! I finally get free and run as fast as I can so I can call for help. The cops arrive and end up arresting me, because the three of them said that I attacked my roomate! So I spent the whole day in jail. Court is in a month and a half, I can't afford a laywer and I don't want to deal with the district attorny. So I'm going to represent myself. *Does anyone have any advice for me or has gone through the same thing? What actions should I take? What actions can I take?

Wow, so sorry to hear that, Holly. Best thing I could come up with from my limited court knowledge (that's usually the court television shows...*lol*), I'd say this: remember everything you can about that night detail by detail. As long as there's a discrepency in the two stories, it will have to be investigated. Since you have no witnesses on your side it will be harder, but good luck. *Pleiades
