DNA testing

Do you think after all those years of getting away with a certain crime many people will be sweating with guilt. As many people are being picked up for crimes they commited years ago those people must be sitting waiting for the knock on the door.Justice reigns at last and maybe the criminal is paying the price instead of the victim ,what do you think.Having to go to hospital knowing everyone is tested for DNA and it is only a matter of time before the game is up,that is what I call justice.Maybe I do sound vindictive am I wrong to.xxx

no, not at all. i hope they catch up w/all the bad guys. another good thing about it , it's allowed people who weren't guilty to start with to get out of prison. of course alot of them have lost years of their lives. that would really tick me off.

I think all DNA should be cataloged at birth, only the guilty have any reason to oppose a DNa register.

I would suppose with all the DNA testing going on, that the criminals would be lined up in front of the jail with their hands up, asking to be let in to pay for their crimes. And those who were wrongfully convicted would be let go. But justice is not that fast and i guess those criminals will try to make a beeline out of the state or the province. But we have seen innocent people released because of those DNA tests but it does give the criminals more time to escape.

In most cases all DNa can actualy do is prove that someone was at a crime scene. On it's own DNA does not stand as convictable evidence, unless it was a rape scene or something and they found dna in the intimate areas of the victim(s).

Is it not most of the case that the person wrongfully convicted looked similar to the one who actually convicted the crime? It was not that he was in the same car as the bad guy who shot the guy. I mean unless the bad guy brings along his identical twin brother, the scenerio will never happen. And for the acocmplices, unless they lie or the killer blames them, they do have a punishment only it is less - that is, unless they run to the police first.

I know I'm vindictive. You don't sound like you are, you just sound like you want justice. I think it's a great idea, but I hadn't heard about it.

nope if you have committed a crime they will catch you, tho I honestly think everyone should be dna tested would make crimes alot easier to solve if everybody had their dna recorded from birth.

It would certainly be a good idea then only the guilty need to worry,it might put a lot of these people off knowing they will be caught and who ever has been affected will not have to stand in court and give out all the terrible details if DNA evidence was offered. Thanks for response.xx
