I heard this humors many times that a combination of red squash and chicken meat can open to leprosy disease. even my mom warn me that when cooking i must separate the red squash and the chicken meat is different also. is it true or its just another superstitious belief that came to our ancestors.?

hi! i guess what you have heard from your mom and from other people are just superstitious belief. why because as i made a research on the internet red squash and chicken meat has nothing to do with leprosy. you can also try and make a research on this, visit this site and it explains more about leprosy, its origin and other pertinent information about leprosy. this is the web site --- http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001347.htm another thing, dont easily believe in superstition at this time. let us first analyze if that is valid. happy mylotting

I have been wondering about this too since last year when we had a guest who said she wouldn't eat our red squash (kalabasa) with coconut milk and roast chicken that we made for lunch. Short of being insulted, I asked why and she said that that's what people used to tell her where she grew up. It's good to know that it's an old wives' tale! Well, I've got to say that our old guest is missing out on some good grub if still believes that. LOL

its not true i've heard it also from my grandmother when we visited my relatives in the province. that if you mix the squash and the chicken especially if there's a coconut milk in it. it can cause or trigger leprosy. but that's only a superstitious belief and don't have any scientific basis. so don't be afraid to okay?

I've heard it already from our folks. I am not sure if its gonna be true because sometimes I forgot if I had eaten those together. I guess, if it is true it would maybe happened if you know it and intentionally do it...I am not sure really...
