Help me figure this dream out...

I was a little kid in 1978,long before computers were the daily thing, and I was only 3 or so. I dreamed of a huge, HUGE room with countless grey cubicles, like in offices now. And in EVERY cubicle was a weird glowing box. Apparently, these turned out to be computers. Trouble is, I didnt have a word for those "glowing boxes" in all the cubicles. All I could call them was GLOWING BOXES! I was very little and the word computer wasnt in my vocabulary yet. Why the hell would I dream of computers BEFORE the age of computers and what,s more, this was in 1978!?
