Hypinated Last names

I was just wondering if anyone knows what I am supposed to do? My fiance has a hypinated name so when we get married am I supposed to take on both names or just the second part? I've been told I should take both parts and could sign and only go by the second part of his name. But all my legal docs and drivers license should have the entire hypinated name for legal reasons. So I was just wondering if anyone could help me out and explain the best thing for me to do when the time comes. What is the proper thing to do?

You should add your last name to the hyphenated name so that your last name is three hyphenated names!! And I am totally kidding, that would be absolutely ridiculous! Honestly, I don't think there's a "proper" way to do it. When you get married, you can change your name to whatever you want to. You can keep your maiden name, you can take just one of your husband's last names, you can take both of his hyphenated names, you can drop one of his hyphenated names and replace it with your last name, or you can add your last name and have three hyphenated names if you really want. So do whatever you like most... after all, it's your name! You probably want to think about what sounds best as well as things like how easy the names are to spell and pronounce.
