About the female contestants...

Is it just me or do the female American Idol contestants look slimmer than they did at the beginning of the season. Allison looked really trim this week, and even Lil was slimmed down. Megan I thought was slightly thicker before but maybe it was just the clothes she was wearing. I swear in her audition that Alexis was pretty curvy on her lower half...now she looks stick thin.
Maybe I am just imagining things, or maybe it's wardrobe tricks. Did anyone else notice this? If yes, do you think the shows producers/stylists are urging the females to slim down??

I think that you're right. It seems to me that in the past years, even the females who were more shapely slimmed down a bit as well...but not as quickly as the female contestents on this season's show. Maybe the producers have implemented some type of exercise regime that they're expected to follow. Or maybe the stress is causing them to lose sleep or not eat as much...? But I'm definitely seeing the same thing you are.

I noticed it on previous seasons too. But you are right this season is much more dramatic. Stress could definitely be a factor.

Not to mention that it's been quite a while since the first auditions. The contestants may have also, on their own, done something to lose weight during the time between the first auditions and when they went to Hollywood.
It does seem like they are under more stress now than when American Idol first started. Granted, I'm sure they have a lot of fun and definitely make great friends. But it seemed much more laid back for them way back when Kelly Clarkson won.

i think they will lose weight because of work, last season, david cook literally transformed before our very eyes, i think he slimmed down in a span of two weeks!!! the girls must be having a harder time adjusting
