Which Blogging Platform ?

I am just about to change blogging platforms from Blogger as I have just got myself my own domain, and wondered if anyone has any experience with or would recommend either Wordpress or Joomla or Drupal. The hosting company I am using can set either of these up for me, so the initial set up won't be the problem, I am thinking more about the customisation side of things ? has anyone used any of these platforms and offer their advice ?

I am using Blogger.com. In blogger.com, I think that it is quite lack of features. I know that a lot of people are using Wordpress. Maybe Wordpress is a good choice for you. I tried Joomla and Drupal before using demo login. Both of them are quite good but I prefer Joomla. Joomla is more user-friendly and easy to use.

Thanks for your replies, I have used blogger for many years now, changed the template and added widgets and have been very pleased with the results, and won't ditch blogger altogether just yet, it is just that I have slightly larger plans, have just bought my own domain, and will be starting a new blog from it, probarly with wordpress as this seems to be the most popular after the free ones like blogger.

Yeah, I am using Bloggers.com for almost 3 years. It is quite good but I need to learn HTML and XML in order to make it looks better. I am planning to start a wordpress blog too. Could you tell me where to buy domain and where do you hosted your wordpress?

I have just signed up with Just Host (justhost.com) and it includes domain name, unlimited space and bandwidth and also can set up joomla and Wordpress up on it as well. You can also have unlimited domains should you purchase more as well. Cost is very cheap and I payed by paypal and got 50 % deduction so got 12 months hosting plus domain name for about $60. Hope this helps you

To me, I still prefer blogger anytime cuz of it's ease of use. However, that being said Joomla is not bad either. I've tried suit me. Wordpress and Drupal but it don't really

Initially I am drawn to Wordpress because the many addons and of course that is what it was made for, blogging, but I keep seeing Joomla mentioned and thought that this might allow my blog to go off in a different tangent. Thanks for your reply

The only one of the 3 I've used is WordPress... in fact I've never even heard of the others. I love WordPress and I'm not sure I'd ever change. It's very customisable and because it's so commonly used you can easily get pre-made themes if that is what you like or need. It is very easy to use and straight forward. It has different levels of user-friendliness from novice to advanced. Very very flexible! There is also sooo much support for Wordpress out there... so many people use it so you should never have an issue you can fix (assuming you have any problems with it). I'd definitely go with WordPress, given the option :)

I use Blogger personally and I really like it. I also use Tumblr and like it. I've heard good things about WordPress and I know that it's really popular. We use it on my photography club's website and it's pretty easy to use, but I think I almost like Blogger better because I get a lot of errors when trying to post photos on WordPress.

Thanks for your comments, since I did this post I took the plunge and delved in with wordpress on my own domain, and so far it seems to be running okay. Happy MyLotting
