We all know that pitbull dogs were used for dog fighting. Most of us have believes that when they bites, their jaws will locked. They also said that this breed of dogs are very temperamental and not suitable for house pet and children. As for me, I have a 2 year old pitbull dog. He likes playing toys, cuddle with children and he is very lovable. He also likes to sleep in the bed with us. Hearing bad publicity of pitbull depressed me. I think that these breed of dogs should give special attention like the one we are giving to our other pet such as poodle and shitsu. So what do you think on choosing pitbull as your house pets?

I do not think there is a "BAD" breed of dog, just bad breeding and training. I have a Giant Schnauzer and in in Europe this is one of the big doigs they ar trying to ban because of "potential" danger as a breed. She is the sweerest big dog in the world and to think rthat the breed could and is being euthanized and or being forbidden as pets does not allow many people to know the love of a great dog. The same goes with a pit bull. I have met some sweeties there, but I have seen some horendous bites caused by them as well. Sorry, I blame the owner not the dog!! Enjoy your baby!

My husband is freaked out by anything that might look like a pitbull. I on the other hand think that is a horrible misconception. I have seen great, sweet, and playful ones. The means ones were trained to be that way or mistreated. I can't hardly think of anything being mistreated. However, I do believe that no dog should be left alone with children. Thats just a safety issue. I have more issues with my choc lab/mix who i have had since he was 6 months old, he is now 3. He doesn't really like strangers but almost will not warm up to strange men. Loves kids or just don't want them out of his site. They love on him, crawl on him, and he sleeps by them. All dogs need love and understanding and patience. Just like our children.

honestly, i think pitbulls being mean is a misconception made by people. pitbulls are great as a pet. pitbulls aren't born vicious or mean people make them that way. it's all about the owner and dogs feed off the handler's energy. as long as they are trained like any other breed of dog and they are a balanced and stable dog (haha i watch too much dog whisperer) there is no problem with having a pitbull.

I have a bull mix and while she is more stubborn then any dog I've ever owned she's nothing but a big baby! She sleeps on our bed with us every night, lays in our lap on the sofa, whines when we leave and kisses us when we return. She plays with the kids and takes a lot of rough play from our youngest ones without ever growling or even giving the slightest sign that she would ever hurt them. I don't believe that there are bad breeds I believe it's how the animal is raised just like with humans. You can't say that one race is worse then the other just because of what certain people in that race decide to do it wouldn't be fair and it isn't fair to judge animals that way either.
