I live in Melbourne Australia and it is illegal to drive while using a mobile phone and yet people still do it, I think it is crazy to drive while talking on a mobile, I have even seen people turning corners while talking on them, it is so dangerous, I wish a few more would get caught at it....

I do not receive calls while driving because it is not very safe to do. It would get my mind off to driving. Although if I am waiting for a very important call, I make sure that my cellphone is set to hands-free and auto answer function so I need not pick it up when it rings and simply talk.

I have no car and I don't drive even a scooter. But my husband always stop the bike/car for receiving a call. He never gives me chance to warn him.

Well, I usually do not stop driving in this case. I use the bluetooth headphone to help me answer the phone. Especially when you are in a busy road, you can not stop easily in the middle of the road. I know this is dangerous. So if I think it is not safe enough to answer a call, I will not answer it. I will find a safe place to answer.

i don't always stop. I know I should. Driving while talking on a cell phone in becoming more illegal in many places. People are not always safe on the road doing it. I wish there were more laws about this. On base where I work you can lose driving privledges for this.

I think that no matter how important the call might be, you have to wait because it's really dangerous. I've heard a lot of accidents caused by this.

hi dik_an, my dear friend, here in my country its not allowed to pick up calls when you are driving but then too people pick. and my hubby is also one of them, who else will i count other hahaha. i dont. i dont receive any call while driving. i dont even like my hubby picking any calls. it distracts you from driving and can cause serious caonsequences, but he hardly listens to me. most of the times i try to pick all the calls when i am siting beside him when his phone rings. there are so many accidents and if police catches you you are in big soup.

erm i dont normally stop when i have to answer my phone while driving. guilty as charged. it depends on who's calling though. if i know that person and want to talk to him/her then i'll answer it even if i'm driving, but i'll make sure to keep my eyes on the road and keep the conversation very brief. if not, then i wont bother to answer at all.

I live in Australia and here if you are caught talking on your mobile phone while driving you will receive a hefty fine so I don't do it for that reason and because of the safety aspect of course. My husband works as a sales representative and is on the road for most of a typical work day and receives many calls during that time so he has Bluetooth installed in his car so he can use the phone hands free which works well for him and is perfectly legal at the moment (there are talks of making it illegal) but I have to wonder sometimes whether hands free is really any safer, after all calls would affect your concentration.

I don't stop driving when i have a call. Simply because i don't answer calls when i'm driving. What i do is just call them back asap when i'm done and inform them why didn't i answered their calls.

hi dik an I don't drive but sometimes I see the driver of a bus or of public transportations receive a call or text while driving. this makes me nervous being in their vehicle. Drivers are not allowed to take those calls or texts shile driving here but many still do that thus endangering the lives of many passengers. Fortunately I haven't heard of any accidents happening due to phone calls or such here.

Are you going to report me if I say i don't? Then, my answer is yes, i stop the car and park to answer a call. :) Ok, you got me, sometimes I would think that it's an important call, I usually answer. Then I'll tell the other person that I am driving and I will call them back. I promise to stop the car to answer an important call or ignore the call. Happy mylotting! Cheers!
