Is it o.k. to ask someone not to sing?

If you're listening to a really good song on the radio and someone starts to sing to it do you mind? For me if it's a song I really like I just want to hear it by itself and enjoy without someone else singing it. Is it o.k. to ask someone not to sing?

that bugs me to. the bad part they can't usually carry a tune in a bucket but i don't guess i'd say anything.

That's what I mean. If the person could sing decent then maybe I wouldn't mind it so much.

Sometime it annoys me also but somehow I just let them sing the song. If that is something that would make them happy then why not allow it right? Also, I think it gives justice to the song if you see a lot of people are singing alont with it. I guess if you are that person in such a situation you would not want other people stop singing because that is your favourite song. This is just another situation of give and take. I hope this contribute. Thanks

I guess it all depends on who is signing it. If the person has a horrible voice then I would rather they not sing at all. IF the person has a decent voice though most of the time I do not mind hearing them sing along.

I wouldn't mind. Just don't be rude about it, ya know, at least let me know it's not my singing, and that you just wanna hear the song! lol!

I think it would be offensive to the person you will be asking to stop singing. But, maybe if you will tell that person in a very nice way which will not be very offensive to that person, you could do that.
