Saving Money For Children

I know that when I was little I had a blue piggy bank, with rosy pink cheeks. She was a girl piggy bank, lol. My momma used to give me money to save in the piggy bank and I had gotten a lot of money. Now though the recession has made a really tight budget for everyone. That's why the question of whether parents are still able to save money for their children came up. If you save money for your children, do you find that you're saving less and less, do you find that you can't save money for them at all? Do you forfeit buying them toys they want so that you can save the money and put it in their piggy banks? Are you on here for the sole purpose of having money to save for yourself and for your children? Were you prepared for this recession? Are you eating less of the things you used to eat? Do you like Raisin Bran?

yes, we have to reduce our consumptions for giving our boy a better living. we have no ways to earning more money, so we can only accept the recession.

A lot of people are struggling with earning and are having to give up things they are used to consuming so as to save for themselves and for their children. The recession is very much here, and we can not fight it (you are true) so we might as well deal with it, and learn a new way to save! I just hope this helps people realize they need to be more environmentally friendly as well.

We have four little ones here, all girls, and they all love feeding their piggies, (putting money in their piggy banks). I think with the recession, I am probably saving more money for the kids rather than less, because I know the value of money, so try to put more aside for them.

That is good I am glad that you are trying to save more for the children, and from the way it sounds, you are able to save more for them! I know that the recession hasn't hit us hard, my fiance and I are just planning our wedding and don't have any other responsibilities other then to save! I appreciate the response, oh and welcome to mylot!

I used to save money when I was young. I used to put coins in the empty powder tins and would open it when it is full and exchange it for notes and put it in the bank. I had saved quite a lot of money by doing this. I had most of the money when I had grown up from taking it when I was a teenager. You the unnecessary money the teenagers spend. Only after spending the money, I realized that I should have never spend the hard earned money that I saved for years and years. Now a days, I am trying to save money by putting in a clay pot and putting some money in bank. I only take the saving money only when I needed and not for unnecessary expenses.

I know that when younger it's tempting to spend money that's saved. I had spent a little bit I had also saved a little as well, and once I got a job I stopped spending to over needlessly. I did splurge on friends and etc, but on myself I would say I did not. I don't have the money though as I spent it, so the money my fiance and I have now is money we've earned since I've met him and quit my job! I appreciate the response, and happy saving!
