The last chapter of the Bible, Revelations, describes the "End Times". Do you think we are near to the End Times? How? What makes this time so different than years before when people felt that way?

Scripture says that we will not know when the Lord will come back. The truth is, the whole modern-day reading of Revelation (no "s") is historically, theologically, and exegetically incorrect. The whole "Left Behind" view of the end-times was foreign to anyone that lived more than 250 years ago--including to the author of Revelation (probably John the Elder). Take this from somebody who used to believe and argue passionately about this view and is now pursuing a degree in New Testament history (and working heavily in apologetics): it is incorrect. Revelation was written to a first-century A.D. audience about first-century A.D. events that were about to happen. It was written to 7 literal churches and, to put it briefly, it is as follows: 1) Greetings and announcements to the churches 2) This is what's going to happen: be prepared!!! 3) Don't worry though. While there is pain and tribulation about to occur (under the reign of Nero) someday Christ will return and he will not only restore everything, but make it "new" in the same way that he has made us "new". - Randy (www.ratiochristi.org)

All down through History we have had prophecies and predictions of the end of the world, and nothing ever came of it. In fact it has become a Joke. There is nothing any different about 2012 than there was about 1997, or 1986, its just a fad, and the sad thing is its carried on and perpetrated on by the uneducated, and the ignorant. Talk to Scientists, and Psychologists. These people know the trends, and have studied both the Past and the probable Future. They will soon set you straight.

Actually islander7 we don't have that long. The Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy are on a collision course and the great collision will occur long before the Sun burns itself out. Don't panic quit yet though, the collision will occur about one billion years from now.

I think it will come for the people who believe in it rather than to everyone.. That's why I don't believe in it.. Its left to others if they want to believe it or not..
